DESCRIPTION:Grassroots Central Mass will continue its tradition of celebrating Earth Day with its 4th Annual “Trees Are Treasures” event on Saturday\, April 20th from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.\, at Wells State Park in Sturbridge. \n\n Enjoy children’s stories\, songs\, crafts and games\n Make wildflower seed bombs\n Take a nature stroll on the Mill Pond Trail\n Learn about forest preservation\n Discover the importance of wetlands\n Hear the history of stone walls\n Take home a tree sapling to plant!\n\nGrassroots Central Mass\, a local affiliate of Indivisible Mass Coalition\, is co-sponsoring this year’s event with Brookfields Fight Fear (BFF). Both groups are dedicated to serving the communities we live in\, through finding and supporting solutions to issues in our towns\, our state\, and our nation. \nFree and open to all!

DESCRIPTION:Towns and cities across the Commonwealth are working BOTH to encourage green development of housing and energy and ALSO to avert the climate emergency. Learn how to make development climate friendly and “green” by preserving trees’ crucial eco-services in urban areas and in wild forests. Natural climate solutions can work together with the development Massachusetts needs. \nThe webinar\, organized by the Trees as a Public Good Network\, will occur via Zoom on Sunday\, April 21\, 2024 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
