Grassroots Central Massachusetts is really excited to endorse two of its own members, Colin Brown and Shannon Teabo, who are running for local offices. Both received unanimous support GCM members. Colin is running for Quabbin Regional School Committee from his hometown of Hardwick and Shannon is running for State Senate in the Worcester & Hampshire Senate District.
Colin, having grown up in Hardwick, has close ties to his community. He is a graduate of Quabbin Regional School District and serves on the board for the Hardwick Fair. Colin has been an active member of GCM since 2022, where he started the Youth Council, serving as the council’s president. His platform includesimproving mental health services for students, promoting academic success, and implementing civics education for the students in his district.
Shannon, like Colin, was born and raised in Central Mass., graduating from Algonquin Regional High School as well as receiving a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Worcester State University. She has made her home in West Brookfield, where she and her husband moved seven years ago, to have land for their horses and to start their family. She cares deeply about the issues that affect the residents of the district, like access to quality healthcare and childcare, rural autonomy and an advocacy for communities that have been left behind by Boston.
Both Colin and Shannon share a sense of empathy for the people they will represent and show a strong commitment to serve their respective communities. It’s uplifting to see to two young Grassroots Central Mass members take on, with energy, enthusiasm, and dedication, the substantial challenges facing this region of the Commonwealth. They have inspired us with their willingness to tackle not only complex issues but also to present a vision of what change and progress will look like in central Massachusetts when they win their elections. We couldn’t be more proud of them!
